For mental diversion, male / female inmates are being taken to outing to see Durgapuja, Kalipuja,etc. With most of the years of their life spent, the inmates, no doubt, enjoy merry time, may be of short duration, that breaks their solitude and loneliness.

With all inmates sitting together, discussion on various subjects, talks and counseling with individual inmates on his familial, social facilities and other matters are being held regularly. At the same time, services for those aged persons living outside in the nearby area and need counseling, advice / suggestions relating to social security and other problems are also being made available to them.

During the year 5 inmates have under gone cataract operation. Routine health check up is carried out. As and when require doctor is called in to give treatment to the sick inmates. Medicines / diet to the sick are supplied under medical advice.

Clothings are supplied thrice in a year. Oil, soap, tooth powder/paste and other necessities are being supplied regularly. For the inmate’s winter cloths, rags have been purchased.

In the Home there is one ring –well and one tube well, and Zet pump with pipelines installed to meet the potable water requirement. Each living room has toilet-cum- bath room with bathing outfits.

Each room has electric fittings for fan and light. Candle / lanterns are used at the time of load-shedding.

With enough open space in the Home campus, flowers, vegetables, etc. are grown. Home inmates assist in such work as far as physically possible in a mood to engage themselves in diversional occupation / hobby. Thereby, we feel, they have been keeping comparatively well physically and mentally.

For recreation of the inmates, newspaper, books, have been arranged for their reading. Besides undertaking outing for them, picnic, TV, Religious Congregation/assembly for religious talks are also being arranged.

With so much land area with boundary wall and number of rooms of the old age home, Govt. sanction for Rs. 18000/- only for maintenance purpose is quite insufficient. This amount needs to be suitably enhanced.

Theses older persons are facing a lot of problems in the absence adequate social security, economic and health needs of elderly. Society still shows acute hatred against leprosy sufferers. For which, in a family, giving marriage of marriageable creates a problem. Besides, being compelled to keep aloof from the family, society, kith and kin, such people or for that matter the Home inmates suffer acute mental agony. With personal discussion and counseling undertaken with family relations such problems are being tackled. Also, any new development is being handled carefully.
